Post WWE Wrestlemania 31 Thoughts

Wrestlemania 31 poster

Wo, oh, oh! Wo, oh, oh, Wrestlemania!

Haha. I still have that theme on one of my old school wrestling soundtracks.

I really had fun last night. I played the new Mario Party game with my wrestling crew whilst munching on cheesy pizza. I lost plenty of times but it was still fun. I can play games now without being overly competitive. =)

The stadium that held Wrestlemania 31 was spectacular. The last time I recall an open stadium was when the Undertaker beat Giant Gonzalez and Yokozuna beat Bret Hart but went on to lose to Hulk Hogan. Coincidentally, this was a Wrestlemania event as well. The atmosphere at this year’s Wrestlemania looked very lively and jubilant. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it though, I’m more than happy to watch it on TV. =)

  1. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (champions) beat The New Day vs Los Matadores beat The Usos (Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Championship Match)

I think this was a good way to kick off the event on the pre-show. I got confused during this match a couple of times. I didn’t know what was going on, and I don’t think the referee did either. Haha. I’m glad that Kidd and Cesaro managed to retain the titles in the end.

  1. Big Show won by last eliminating Damien Mizdow (30-man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal)

In this battle royale I was rooting for Kenta, aka Hideo Itami, and Damien Mizdow.

I actually thought Sheamus was going to make a surprise entrance and win. However, he never showed up. I’m going to make a random prediction for tonight’s Raw… Bad News Barrett speaks about his disappointment of losing the title. He will either say that he deserves a rematch or he offers an open challenge. Whatever happens I bet Sheamus is going to come down, make a “surprise” return and beat Bad News Barrett.

Back to the match… It was at the back of my mind that Ryback or Big Show will probably win it, however, I was really rooting for Mizdow. I was really happy that he made it to the last two and I got excited at the prospect of him winning the actual match. I think he has more to gain by winning than the Big Show does. Ultimately, the Big Show won. I was really gutted about this but I’m happy to see Mizdow doing himself justice. I hope he gets a big push now. =)

  1. Daniel Bryan beat Bad News Barrett (champion), Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, R-Truth and Stardust (Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship)

This was a really good match. All ladder matches tend to be good. My favourite one is still Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels. All the stunts the wrestlers pulled were dangerous. I’m really pleased that Daniel Bryan won but I wouldn’t have minded if Barrett retained the title. I wore my Daniel Bryan “yes” T-shirt with pride.^^/

  1. Randy Orton beat Seth Rollins (Singles Match)

I enjoyed this match, especially the ending. I was anticipating that Randy was going to do a crazy RKO, and I was right. However, I never anticipated that he would launch Seth the way he did. I’m quite glad that Rollins performed that Phoenix Splash…I think that’s what it’s called. It’s a great move whatever it is.

  1. Triple H beat Sting (No Disqualification)

Me and my brother have been waiting for a long time for Sting to come to WWE. I was extremely excited when he first appeared. He made his debut at Survivor Series. I wonder if this was deliberate as Undertaker made his debut at Survivor Series as well.

I kept getting excited every time Sting made an appearance or cut a promo on Raw. He looked really strong going into this match. I wasn’t expecting a long fast paced match between these two wrestlers. I was just glad that Sting was finally going to wrestle in a WWE ring.

This match was exciting and it went to the point where I couldn’t predict the outcome. I do question the entrances though. I didn’t really engage with Sting’s entrance, I was more confused with what was happening. I think an orchestra would have been more appropriate and would have made the music slow and mystical. I think that’s more Sting’s character then the percussion music that he came out to.

I was a little confused by Triple H’s entrance as well. However, on reflection, I wonder if that’s to promote Arnold Schwarzenegger and his new Terminator film? It did make me immediately think of the time when Robo Cop busted Sting out of that cage in WCW. It’s very creative though, Triple H sees Sting as the enemy so he must take him “down”.

I enjoyed the match a lot more than I thought I would. I got excited when DX interfered and Sting took out Triple along with Billy Gunn, Road Dogg and X-Pac with a flying crossbody. My heart skipped when Nash, Hall and Hogan came down and fought as the N.W.O. I never thought I would see DX and N.W.O. square off like that. Then you have Shawn Michaels making an appearance and did the Sweet Chin Music on Sting.

In the end, all it took was a sledgehammer for Triple H beat Sting…

I was really, really gutted and a little upset. WWE were building Sting up and making him appear strong. Plus, it was his debut in WWE so surely he was going to win. Sting losing doesn’t really make sense to me. I was very confident that Sting was going to win. Did they big him up on purpose so we didn’t anticipate his loss? Does that mean that Sting is going to disappear now? Is there going to be a re-match between Triple H and Sting? They both shook hands at the end of the match so it does make me think that this feud is probably going to end for now.

Sting breaking the sledgehammer with his baseball bat was cool.

Regardless, I did enjoy it. I enjoyed seeing DX and N.W.O. square off and I enjoyed seeing Sting in the WWE ring for the first time. =)

  1. AJ Lee and Paige beat The Bella Twins (Tag Team Match)

It was rather humorous to see AJ getting knocked off the apron before she had been tagged in. I really liked Paige’s attire. It was both cool and easy on the eye. I’m glad her Wrestlemania debut was a win.

  1. John Cena beat Rusev (WWE United States Championship)

Rusev’s entrance was very grand. I’m not sure about those soldiers though… their legs didn’t look very natural when they were marching. They looked rubber. Haha.

If anyone was going to beat Rusev for the US title, it was going to be John Cena. I think on Raw tonight the huge US flag is going to drop down, just like how the Russian flag has been dropping down on recent episodes of Raw. =)

I’m pleased to see Lana back.

  1. The Undertaker beat Bray Wyatt (Singles Match)

Admittedly, I was very nervous about this match up. It’s no secret that the Undertaker had a nasty concussion last year in his match against Lesnar. How was he going to fare this year? If he fights this year.

He did fight this year… I think he has done better this year than he did last year. He did the Old School move. He looks very healthy. I was anxious at times whenever he wobbled about. Were these wobbly moments part of the act or had he suffered another concussion? I’m glad he won this year and I really, really liked his match with Wyatt.

I’m still with the view that the Undertaker’s streak should never have been broken, especially by Lesnar. I can understand why WWE chose Lesnar to beat Undertaker’s streak so I’m not complaining but I still maintain my views from last year.

  1. Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar (champion) and Roman Reigns (Triple Threat Match)

I think this was a great conclusion. I honestly thought that Lesnar would win the match and Rollins “cashes” in his Money in the Bank after the match. When Lesnar executed that third F5, it did cross my mind, at that point, that Rollins would cash in there and then. It turns out that he actually did! I was really happy that he did. I was even happier that he actually won the title. As far as I’m aware no one has cashed in the Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania before.

I do wonder what’s going to happen now. Will Orton challenge Rollins for the world championship? Will Big Show and Roman Reigns be part of the world championship picture as well? Maybe Sheamus will be added to the equation when he returns. I think I’ll have a good idea when Raw airs tonight.

 Sting diving

This has certainly thrown my sleeping pattern off schedule. I went to bed late but got up early. Haha. I was invited out to the pub quiz this evening but I decided not to go as I wanted to use today and this evening to slob about. Usually I would feel self-guilty and worry about not socialising, but I was too tired and relaxed to let it become an issue. Haha.

Applewood Farm: Half-Term Pub Quiz

602136_10152023402742171_1332782054_n

Good Tidings.^^/
I decided the week before that I was going to go to the Pub Quiz and thought no more about it. If I dwelled on it, then it would have become a big issue. And so I didn’t… One week later, Monday morning, I remembered that on that night I was quizzing… I was still going to go regardless.

I went there and became a guest participant in Team Densa. Hoho. All was well, but it only just occurred to me whilst in the pub that it was half-term. That meant that there were plenty of people about, and the whole place was rocking and lively. That’s good because it means that the atmosphere is vibrant and happy, however, it wasn’t so good for me.

I ended up getting a massive headache and felt closed in, and it wasn’t because I hit my head in the car. It did leave a ringing in my ear though…

Ahem-

In one way I can see it as unfortunate because it does feel like I can never enjoy being in a big crowd. On the other hand, it doesn’t hurt not being in big crowds as I see it more as a preference. Socialising in big crowds can be a good change of pace from time to time but I wouldn’t like it if it became a regular occurrence. I always do tend to get headaches and a massive head mush when I go out, especially if there were a lot of people around. My headache did get worse as we were sat right next to the speakers. This caused me to miss a lot of cheesy, ahem- I mean hilarious jokes made by my team. I suppose, looking at it like this, I ought to be thankful. Haha.

All in all we came 6th out of 57 teams with 68 points. I was mightily impressed I must say. I got three answers right. “Excalibur” (I’m quite knowledgeable about fantasy and myths) Stranger on the Shore (Famous album) and Baby Jane (my Mum likes all of Rod Stewart’s songs). I did know about the answer to Victoria Secret though but I convinced myself that I was going to be wrong, so I let it go. It’s quite typical, because it was the only time when I didn’t shout out a random answer. Haha.

Despite my uneasiness I did take away some enjoyment from that night…I always do.

 Non Non Biyori Wallpaper

I whole heartedly believe that we should have a “Thomas the Tank Engine Round”…just because I know I’ll waltz through it all. Haha. Then again…wouldn’t that be unfair to the other teams? Well, I think that’s more of the Quiz Master’s problem, not mine, so I won’t bother give that another thought. Haha. =D

Applewood Farm Pub Quiz 2014

Applewood Farm

Ho, Ho, Ho.^^/

Coincidentally, it was around this time last year that I blogged about the Applewood Farm pub quiz. This time was more special than the time from last year.

A dear friend of ours came to visit from Norway. He’s really my brother’s friend but I said ‘ours’ because I consider him a friend of mine too.^^/ Since he was over here we decided that we were going to the Applewood Farm pub quiz. I was invited out on this occasion. Usually I would have to think about it for days. Instead, I said that I would go and deal with my anxiety when the time came.

*

I did get into a little bit of a head mush for a couple of hours before the outing. I had a lot of decorations to sort out, house chores and wrapping presents. I tried to think rationally. It then came to my attention that a completely new person was going to come and join our outing. I started to get apprehensive. I was not prepared to meet someone new. It wasn’t long ago that I had just got over the whole London trip so how was I going to fare going to the quiz with someone new?

This nearly swayed me out of the trip. I then remembered that our friend from Norway was attending. It isn’t often that he comes over and he was going back the following day. This would really be my last opportunity to see him for a while so I decided to go, despite my sudden rush of worries.

*

The taxi with my brother and co arrived. A strange wave of anxiety then rose up in my chest and stomach. The taxi he ordered was… let’s call them Taxi Company X. Now, this was a big problem for me. Taxi Company X gave me a hard time during my college/university days. They often made me late, they crashed into posts, they nearly crashed into other cars and they deliberately left me stranded. My parents complained about them at the time and I was switched to another transportation company to get to college/university.

I promised myself that I will never travel with them again. And I kept that promise…but my brother made me break it. Bro, if you’re reading, shame on you! (The fact that my brother knew nothing about my silent promise is neither here or there. Haha.)

In all seriousness, I understand that things could have changed since my university days. For all I know the evening service might be a lot more efficient then the contract service. Letting things go can be difficult depending on your own experience. On this occasion I needed to grit my teeth hard. Fortunately for me Taxi Company X were ok and they didn’t leave me stranded. Of course I won’t forget about the times when they made my life difficult but this was a good barrier for me to overcome. They still wouldn’t be my first choice of transportation.

*

In the taxi I tried to distract myself by making conversation. We talked about rubbish and I was sort of ok.^^/

The pub quiz was quite fun, our team were the Volvo Brothers, Volbros for short. 🙂 The puzzle round was mighty difficult. I’m not even sure if I can explain it… so I won’t. Haha.

I was debuting my new jumper and silky T-shirt too. It was a proud moment… until it was cut short. It came to light that I dropped bits of chocolate flakes down my jumper. “Oh no!” was my instant cry. I then pulled up my jumper to find more chocolate flakes on my pants. “Oooooh nooooo!” was my bigger cry.

You may have gathered, but I get somewhat careless when I eat. I even found one on my forehead. I have no idea how that got there! I don’t eat like Cookie Monster though. Honest!

*

The socialising side was much better than I anticipated. There was a chance that another lady was going to join in with the quiz on our team too. It was too short noticed for me to react or worry so I decided to just take it in my stride. I was adamant that I wanted to be on the end of the table as I sensed that I needed to dash off a couple of times.

Our team were placed 8th out of 37 with 61 points. I was most pleased. We originally counted up the score to 48 points. When we didn’t hear our names I suspected that we might have been disqualified. If you’re caught using your phone during the quiz or google the answers then you’re automatically disqualified. I know I used my phone once replying back to a friend but no more than that. I was concerned that we might have been disqualified due to a misunderstanding. Thankfully, I was wrong. =)

I bought my brother a pint of…carling, I think? I’m a tea total by nature and never touch anything alcoholic. His birthday is coming up so I figured I should treat him. It’s probably the second time that I bought him a pint, but I was on my own in this case so I was unsure if I was going to get an I.D. check. It turned out, I didn’t.

I seem to forget that I’m not as young as I used to be. In my head, I feel no different now than when I was 17. It’s weird yet fascinating how we age. I digress.

*

I somewhat interacted with other people. I grinned at the quiz master and he winked at me back. I smiled back at a random lady who was smiling when I was at the bar, getting hot chocolate with marshmallows and chocolate flakes. Yes, these are the exact same chocolate flakes that went down my pants and top. Haha.

I was somewhat caught up in the crowd and sort of backed off so I let everyone get through the door first. I don’t like heaps of crowd as some of you may know, so I decided to wait until the crowd died down to get out. This random chap asked me “where did you come?” I replied “eighth.” He then mumbled a couple of words, but I believe he was paying me and my team a compliment.

A young cute lady then said to me that they came in second. I beamed up and offered my congratulations when Mr Drunk interrupted and said that she was lying out of her…backside. Now that I think about it, she probably said thirty second and he misunderstood her. Then, when we were outside he offered up a fist gesture so someone would bump with him. So, I stretched out my arm and gave him a fist bump. Haha. Then he walked away…

I think that was probably the first ever time I gave someone a fist-bump. Haha.

THANKS FOR READING

It was certainly an eventful evening from my point of view, but in a way, it’s a good change of pace and most certainly a valuable experience, especially when handling people who have had a little bit too much to drink.

Jingle Bells until next time.

My First Year Blog Anniversary

Party Popper

Blog Tidings.^^/

It seems rather strange that I have been blogging for one full year now and this was met by many adventures that I did during that period. =) I’m not sure how it started really. I believe I was just rambling on with my family when it came up in passing that I should blog about my experiences with Autism. I learned over the years that writing things down can release my unwanted tension and it’s another form of me expressing myself. =)

After careful consideration, I registered on WordPress and my blogging journey started…

I could talk about my year as a whole, but instead, I’ll just summarise and link to the blogs that I think are significant.^^/

  1. Introduction

This is my introduction which I wrote one year ago. =)

  1. WWE Raw 2013

I went to WWE Raw with my circle friends. I used to be a big fan of WWE but this was the first time that I attended an actual wrestling show. It was daunting but it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. Plus, my favourite wrestlers were in attendance.

  1. Segway

This was good experience and an instant highlight of the year. I arranged a birthday treat for my brother. This was the first time that I had actually arranged anything. I was also venturing into the unknown here. It was a little distance away but we both had a really good time and I would do Segway again without hesitation.

  1. Pub-Quizzing

On some occasions I would go to the Pub Quiz either as a night out or to celebrate a special occasion. I would often have to have a long think about whether I want to go out or not. Last month though, I went to the pub quiz for Cheese’s (the friend, not the dairy product) birthday celebration. Instead of needing to think I just decided to deal with my emotions when the time arrived.

  1. WWE Royal Rumble

In early 2014 I stayed at my brother’s until the early hours watching WWE Royal Rumble. For some televised wrestling events I would often stay over. Usually after the event I spend the rest of my night sitting in a chair reading as I don’t feel comfortable sleeping in someone else’s house.

  1. Completing a Writing Course

This was certainly a joyous occasion and I celebrated it with a pint of J2O. 😉 I learned a lot about writing and how to approach a publisher. Nothing has been happening for me and my books just yet but I believe I’m steering myself in the right direction. =)

  1. Positivity and Autism

Naturally, coping with Autism can be tough. I tend to over-think and read into situations that are not there.

  1. Visiting College

Visiting my college again was quite a challenge. I was invited back to college a few times to watch performances and to catch up with people but I declined those offers. I was out of routine and had become unfamiliar with everything.

However, this year, I decided to pluck up my own courage and visited. I thought long and hard about this invitation but in the last minute I decided to say “yes.”

  1. The Wedding Blogs

I didn’t have much to blog about in July except for one…my sister’s wedding. That was a very significant moment and I achieved a lot personally on that day.

  1. Yoga

My outlook on myself and confidence is highly due to my regular practice in Yoga.

  1. Film with a Friend

I went to watch the Transformers film with a friend… this was definitely a significant moment as this was the first time that I’ve been out with someone without a family member being present. The following day I went to the cinema with my Dad, and I took the initiative as he is less familiar with the procedure then I am.

  1. Impromptu Outing

Going to an impromptu trip to a train station was an interesting challenge.

  1. November Happenings

November was very busy month and was perhaps the most challenging.

I designed a Halloween costume dressed as the Shockmaster for my Brother’s Halloween party. The day after that I went to London to watch Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. As I travelled to London it was necessary for me to stay in a hotel, the first time that I ever slept in a bed that wasn’t my own… If that wasn’t challenging enough, I then travelled to Liverpool to watch WWE Raw.

BLOGGING

I believe I still have a lot to learn where blogging is concerned. What I have learnt though is that at times I probably forced myself to blog about stuff if I felt that I should blog about it. I like to think that in one year I developed my own style of writing and blogging. I consider myself always upbeat and looking on the happy side of life.

What I learnt is that I need to enjoy what I’m writing and I would often remind myself that all these blogs are from my own point of view. I tend to get the best out of myself if I enjoy writing, especially when reviewing film and manga. It can be hard at times since I find it difficult to summarise but thankfully I have my editor (aka Mum) to help me out. 😉

I find as well that if you don’t force yourself to blog you will have more things to talk about.

I feel a lot better when I’m blogging as it’s a good way to express myself. However, it came to light at times that viewers from all over the world are actually reading what I have to say. I’m also aware that some of my blogs have put smiles on the faces of my friends.

Making people happy is what motivates me to continue writing and blogging. Being happy is important, and if I’m making someone happy then I intend to keep up with that flow! =)

Two Thumbs-Up

I summarised my whole year to the best of my abilities. How did I do? Did I waffle too much? Haha. Well, I had to figure out how I was going to write this blog. In all honesty, it wasn’t a tough as I anticipated. All I had to do was sum up what I did and share my adventures from last November to now. =)

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. I can’t wait to see what my future adventures will involve next.

See you next time.^^/

Pub-Quizzing

Good Tidings! ^^/

I mentioned previously that my Brother’s birthday was coming up. Well, it was a couple of days ago now and he’s now 27 years old. As well as arranging a Segway event I also bought him a present. I bought him an Anime figure; it’s Mio from the Anime K-On. If you get the chance you should give K-On a watch, it’s very funny, light-hearted and full of great songs. =)

Before I get off the beaten track I’m going to talk about the Pub Quiz. My brother wanted to go to the Pub Quiz to celebrate being a year older. We went to Applewood Farm.

I first started pub-quizzing at the Talbot. I didn’t really like it much, at least not at first. I’m not sure if the rowdy atmosphere made me uncomfortable or it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Nowadays we go pub-quizzing at Applewood Farm. Sometimes I come in as a substitute for a quizzer in my sister’s team, Densa. Or at times I will be part of my Brother’s team whenever we dine and quiz there.

Applewood Farm is about three times bigger than the Talbot so it’s more spacious but it’s more crowded due to popularity. Admittedly I don’t like this. I’m ok if I’m sitting in corners like I did on my Brother’s birthday night. However if I sit out in the open I’m a bit more conscious that I’m surrounded by other people. It makes me feel queasy.

Usually- a bad habit of mine- I tend to people watch, no matter who they are. I always turn around whenever someone is walking behind me. It’s instinct. I’m very sensitive to being touched so if I know there is someone behind me I instinctively turn around to see who it is. I don’t do this because I want to but I’m conscious and anxious of the fact that someone is close to me. I turn around to make sure that they don’t touch me or try any funny moves…I know they wouldn’t but my Autistic senses like to play funny games with my mind. =D

Speaking of people watching there was this cute blonde girl who served us food the other day. She had fair skin and beautiful blue eyes but what I noticed the most about her was perhaps the cutest and littlest nose I’ve ever seen! It makes me want to prod it and tickle it with a feather so I could watch her sneeze. =’D

Ahem, back to the topic-

I’m confident enough to participate in the questions, on that night I got a lot right. I identified Dusty Springfield; I answered a lot of Christmas films puzzles correctly and movie soundtracks correctly. So, it was a good night for me. I never intend to go up and play cards for money, I don’t like standing out. This is quite quirky considering that I did performing arts at Uni, but even then I never liked standing out. Apparently a Yoga expert is called a Yogi. Everyone looked at me and shook their heads with disappointment since I actually go to Yoga every Wednesday. Well, I can say with supreme confidence that I didn’t know that at all. XD

Back when I first started pub-quizzing I did get frustrated at times. If we [the team] didn’t know an answer I would make a very wild guess that’s funny and nonsense- basically the first thing that pops into my head. So, when the team didn’t know the answer and I did and spoke out, I was never taken seriously. Mostly because some of the answers I came up with were bizarre, so that was understandable.

What attributed to no one listening to my answers is the fact that I am softly spoken. I always thought that when I spoke and no one responded, I either bored them and they switched off or they were just not paying attention. So, I got frustrated. I thought that I wasn’t interesting to talk to and I bored people easily. It doesn’t happen just at the pub quiz it happens at every social event that I go to…but then it came to my attention that my voice is just too soft-spoken. That means of course that no one can hear me. Even if you sit or stand right next to me and I’m talking to you, you won’t necessarily hear me. So in some ways this is reassuring.^^

Now, even though I’m still softly-spoken (as it’s who I am) I do get stuck-in with the questions and discuss the answers without given out any “wild-guesses” so to speak. 😉

Before I sign off here is a picture of a hot chocolate that I drank last night…it was glorious.

Toodles~ ^^/
